My name is Justin Abercrombie. I am married to a wonderful woman named Cammie and we have a fine little boy named Nathanael. Cammie and I are born-again believers and followers of Jesus Christ and we hope and pray that God will save Nathanael at an early age. We are very thankful for how the Lord has worked in our lives and realize that it is fully by God’s grace that we are what we are. Even though we fail all too often, we seek to glorify God in all that we do.
I am starting this blog in order to glorify God by engaging culture with truth from God’s Word. The twenty-first century culture is one that is in desperate need of truth. It is a culture filled with hurting people from all walks of life. The reason that people are hurting, and in need of truth, is because there is sin in the world. As a matter of fact, every human is a sinner (Rom 3:23). Not just a sinner against themselves, but a sinner against God. God is holy, but we are not. This is not good news- I know! There isn’t good news without first having bad news. I believe that a culture can be changed when the Word of God transforms individual lives and hearts. This can only happen through the good news of the gospel of Jesus the Christ. This leads us to the good news!
The Gospel (good news)
There is a remedy for the sinfulness of mankind. The gospel (good news) is that God came to earth as Jesus the Christ to save sinners for their spiritually lost state (Matt 1:21). Jesus is the Son of God and is the only One who ever lived a perfect life (Heb 4:15). This perfect life was the only one that could be a perfect sacrifice, which God required to atone for the sins of man. Jesus willfully gave up his life on a cross in order to save sinners (Luke 23:46). Then Jesus rose from the dead to conquer sin and death! Not for everyone, but for those who would repent and believe in Him for salvation. Once a person becomes a Christian they will produce the fruit of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to live within them and helps to direct and guide them in their life. Salvation cannot be earned by any means other than repentance and faith in Jesus Christ (Eph 2:8-10). Once a person trusts in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they will do good works. The Christian is a new creation (2 Cor 5:17). This new creation, the Christian, lives to serve and obey Jesus out of a willful desire. The purpose of the Christian is nothing more than to glorify God. This is the only way for a human to find their true significance – glorifying God.
This is the good news of Jesus Christ.
This is why I am what I am – by the the grace of God!
To God be the glory!
